Hereford Dooley Architects granted Just 2.0 Label

Nashville, TN

January 2022

At the end of 2021, Hereford Dooley Architects received our first Just 2.0 label. It is an exciting landmark for our organization! As a program of the International Living Future Institute, Just is a voluntary disclosure tool used a nutrition label for socially just and equitable organizations. It is not a certification program, but a platform for organizations to disclose operations, such as employee benefits and where financial and community investments are made. The Just program aligns with our five core values: service, integrity, generosity, learning and improvement – and our desire to be transparent with the people we work with, from our employees to our clients and everyone in between. After an extensive data dive and collection, we were granted our Just label.

We are pleased with our grade and the benchmark provided for us to improve our current policies in the near future. We encourage all corporations to join us in taking this internal look at their own operations.

Opportunity for employees to give back

Nashville, TN and Birmingham, AL

October 2020

Hereford Dooley Architects has implemented a unique way for team members to give back to communities and charities of their choice. Using Charityvest, our firm matched 100% of the first $1,000 donated by our employees through a matching program. There are no additional processing fees using this web site, ensuring every penny goes to the charities in need. As an initial offering, Hereford Dooley made a deposit into each employee’s charity bank for them to make the first tax-deductible grants. Our goal for using Charityvest is to allow the philanthropical extension of our company be the main source for charitable giving in the future, while allowing employees to self-direct those funding measures.

Hereford Dooley Architects participates in Civic Design Center’s 2020 Parking Day

Nashville, TN

September 18, 2020

The Nashville Civic Design Center has been hosting Parking Day for several years. 2020 is Hereford Dooley Architects first year to participate. Our firm’s virtual submission is based off our theme, in order to heal, one must learn to heel. Taking that into consideration and the current circumstances of COVID-19, it is still important to maintain relationships with others. For example, dogs are designed to interact and learn from their surroundings. Interactions with other pups can help heal them mentally and physically. Thus, our heeling barklet was born. It is designed to allow dogs to interact and engage with their surroundings. Our design uses sustainable materials throughout the entire parklet. and was brought to (virtual) life by our team. Check out our work. We even won a Golden Bone award!

Hereford Dooley Celebrates 25th Anniversary on July 15, 2019

Hereford Dooley Architects was officially formed by principals Trip Hereford and Tom Dooley in 2014, but its roots trace back to 1994. Tom opened the Nashville studio in 1994 when he partnered with Lyman+Davidson of Atlanta to form Lyman Davidson Dooley. Trip came on board in 2006, and in 2014 the founding principals rebranded the Nashville studio from a divisive reorganization and became Hereford Dooley.

The firm has experience in public and commercial work, but at the heartbeat of their portfolio is healthcare work. Since 1994, Hereford Dooley has specialized in Ambulatory Surgery Centers, Freestanding Emergency Rooms, Oncology Centers as well as Medical Office Buildings and Acute Care Design. The firm has planned and designed almost 900 healthcare projects to date.

Their mission is to deliver exceptional designs that foster a healthy environment for their team, clients and communities. The firm is proud of their service first attitude, something that is translated into every aspect of their business. The firm leadership lives this by example and is trickled down and encouraged to every team member.

The leadership is quick to humble themselves and thank all the people that have supported and worked with them over the past 25 years. Hereford Dooley looks forward to their next 25 years and the opportunities they will have to continue to give back, share their expertise to invest in a sustained and bright future for all.
